Hello and thanks for visiting my “Labor of Love” site “Do Dogs Go To Heaven?”. If this is your first visit to “Do Dogs Go To Heaven?”, I must warn you that this site is quite eclectic. You never know what you might happen upon here. This post will feature my pet memorial picture called, “Two Dogs Go To Heaven”. I started this site in the hopes of reaching out to people who might be suffering from the heartache of pet-loss. Unfortunately, this is a subject that I am all too familiar with, having lost my beloved friend Sammy just this last September. I miss him very much. We were close friends for 15 years. But I’m not worried about Sammy. I worry about me more than Sammy. You see, he’s the lucky one. I wrote a song about it. Goes like this:
I know you’re the lucky one.
You’re up in Heaven having all kinds of fun.
While I’m down here feeling lonely and glum.
I know you’re the lucky one.
Well, that’s how the chorus goes anyway. I’ll put it on this site in it’s entirety when I get it recorded someday. By the way, I did record an album back in 2007. It’s called “Only With Love” and it’s available on Amazon. Just search “Barry Barnes Only With Love” Or you can just click here.
I also have a book on Amazon that I wrote to help people to get through the grieving process after losing a loved one. The book is called, “My Pet Letter from Heaven”. Here is a link.
Now I would like to show you some of my listings from eBay of “Two Dogs Go To Heaven”
When asked, “Do dogs go to Heaven?”, Evangelist Billy Graham quipped back very assuredly, “God will prepare everything for our perfect happiness in Heaven, and if it takes my dog being there, I believe he’ll be there.”
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
I feel very confident that all our animals will be restored when Jesus brings down the new Heaven and the new Earth. They are God’s pets too. He created all the animals and said, “It is good.”
You are very correct in stating that it is most important to make sure that we are there also to see them. The animal will be restored without having to believe or repent. But for us, it is important to be rightly related to God which is very simple… we just need to trust that Jesus came to fulfill the law that we are not capable of obeying completely and we will be accounted as righteous in God’s eyes just as it was for Abraham.
Some have tried to say that dogs and other animals will not be in Heaven because that lack a “soul”. I don’t believe that to be true but it is a mute point in any case. Eventually God will redeem all of His creation. Everything in this world is presently corrupted and in a continuous state of decay. Nothing is as God intended in the beginning. But someday God will restore all of creation back to it’s original glory. Heaven will be right here on earth. I don’t really believe in a “Pet Heaven” but I believe in Heaven with pets.
A New Heaven and a New Earth
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea (sea, in this context is anther word for chaos). 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,…
God doesn’t give up on His real estate… or his pets either. All of the animals will be here when the earth is restored to it’s former grandeur. Of course, we too will be restored in our new bodies.
20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,[j] including the new bodies he has promised us.
To Sum this up, Jesus believed in the Bible (the old Testament of course).

To sum this up, if Jesus really conquered death and came back to life after being killed (which is very well documented), shouldn’t we be listening to what he said and believing what he believed?
Well if you believe the Bible, God promises to care for all the animals forever. What’s interesting about this is that they will be saved and raised to Heaven without having to be cleansed of sin because they are not actually capable of sinning. The animals never rebelled against God because they wanted to “be equal to God, knowing good and evil.” In Genesis, it states that God created the all the animals and “It was good”. Whether you believe that the creation story is to be taken literally or that it is a simple analogy of how and why God brought the world into being; the Bible is the inspired word of God. I have to admit that some of it is hardly inspiring to me (especially in the Old Testament) but if Jesus says it was inspired, who am I to argue.
We, on the other hand must be redeemed and made clean from sin before we can be in God’s presence.
Pets in Heaven? Yes, Your Pet will be waiting for you in Heaven when you get there… if you get there that is.
But it’s really not that hard to make sure that you will be there.
All you have to do is believe that God came to earth as Jesus, and died for our sins so that ” whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
